Is this why they call it the White House now?: “
First, a disclaimer: 4chan is well known to be an unreliable information source. Be that as it may, if this is a hoax, someone did their homework. I haven’t found anything to indicate it is a fraud yet (not that I’m an expert either.).

Matt Rooney at The Save Jersey Blog found an image uploaded there that could be quite damaging to the White House. If the data he claims to have gleaned from the image is true and accurate, it would appear that someone, using an iPhone took a photo on 01/11/2010 at 18:05:47 local time facing southwest, of what appears to be three lines of a white powder, perhaps cocaine, on a desk or tabletop, along with a double edged razor blade and a glass of red wine or perhaps brandy. The iPhone camera recorded the phone’s location, orientation and altitude from the phone’s built in GPS and stored it as EXIF metadata in the image. The location, if true would put it on the residence level, approximately in the west room between the president’s cosmetology room and the north hallway. Unfortunately it cannot be pinned down precisely by us mere mortals because we do not know what the intentional error being broadcast by the GPS constellation at that moment in time was. The original image link is not longer valid, it has been taken down it would appear. I wonder if there might be a way to tie the SN or IMEI # of the iPhone to the image. If so we should be able to get down to the owner of said phone. It would presumably belong to the person that took the picture.

Maybe Larry Sinclair wasn’t such a nutcase after all….

Chavez Tells Copenhagen Summit “Capitalism Is the Road to Hell” – Gets Rousing Ovation: “

Venezuelan Marxist Hugo Chavez told the global warming junk science conference representatives that ‘Capitalism is the road to hell’ today during his lecture in Copenhagen.

Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez painted capitalism as the enemy of the earth — not to mention the cause of AIDS, poverty and war — in a speech to the UN Summit on Climate Change that invoked Mohammed, Jesus Christ and Simon Bolivar.

‘The cause of all this disastrous situation is the destructive capitalist system,’ the Venezuelan socialist leader told delegates Wednesday.

‘Capitalism is the road to hell.’

Chavez has never met a microphone to which he didn’t have something to say. Wednesday was no different as he stormed through two centuries of economic theory, bounced around the globe and invoked the teachings of Brazilian liberation theologist Leonardo Boff, a champion of the poor who warned of the folly of seeking happiness through material wealth.

‘I would exhort the government and the people of the earth … to say that if the destructive nature of capitalism exists, let’s fight against it and make it obey us,’ he said. ‘If capitalism resists, then we have to give battle against capitalism and open our way to save mankind.’

But, the Venezuelan leaders attacks on capitalism did not bother the leftist representatives at the summit meeting.
They gave him a rousing ovation.

When he said the process in Copenhagen was ‘not democratic, it is not inclusive, but isn’t that the reality of our world, the world is really and imperial dictatorship…down with imperial dictatorships’ he got a rousing round of applause.

When he said there was a ‘silent and terrible ghost in the room’ and that ghost was called capitalism, the applause was deafening.

But then he wound up to his grand conclusion – 20 minutes after his 5 minute speaking time was supposed to have ended and after quoting everyone from Karl Marx to Jesus Christ – ‘our revolution seeks to help all people…socialism, the other ghost that is probably wandering around this room, that’s the way to save the planet, capitalism is the road to hell….let’s fight against capitalism and make it obey us.’ He won a standing ovation.

Washington, D.C. Growing Like An Amoeba-

Some fascinating numbers from USA Today:

Federal employees making salaries of $100,000 or more jumped from 14% to 19% of civil servants during the recession’s first 18 months — and that’s before overtime pay and bonuses are counted.

Federal workers are enjoying an extraordinary boom time — in pay and hiring — during a recession that has cost 7.3 million jobs in the private sector.

….

The highest-paid federal employees are doing best of all on salary increases. Defense Department civilian employees earning $150,000 or more increased from 1,868 in December 2007 to 10,100 in June 2009, the most recent figure available.

When the recession started, the Transportation Department had only one person earning a salary of $170,000 or more. Eighteen months later, 1,690 employees had salaries above $170,000.

The growth in six-figure salaries has pushed the average federal worker’s pay to $71,206, compared with $40,331 in the private sector.

This is obscene. Every newly-created federal job created means more government employee union money and activism. This explosion means hundreds– possibly even thousands– more 2-3 thousand dollar donors to the Democratic Party, all of whom have very personal vested interests in the perpetual growth of big government and many of whom will be donating a small fraction of their paychecks to protect those vested interests.

Mass-Murderer Josef Stalin Now Honored at D-Day Memorial: “

The National D-Day Memorial recently added a bust of Josef Stalin to its lineup.
The Soviets did not participate in D-Day.

The New York Daily News reported:

The National D-Day Memorial has sparked outrage by adding to its lineup of Allied leaders a bust of the Soviet dictator who helped start World War II and the Cold War.

Not only did Joseph Stalin kill more people than Adolf Hitler in his murderous reign, he didn’t send a single Russian soldier to storm the beaches at Normandy in 1944…

Stalin’s hands were soaked with the blood of millions of Ukrainians even before he and Hitler carved up Poland and set off the Second World War in 1939.

As Hitler’s ally, Stalin’s henchmen marched over a million Poles and Jews off to Siberia and murdered 22,000 Polish officers in the Katyn Forest.

William McIntosh, president of the memorial in Bedford, Va., insisted ‘the function of this sculpture is not to honor Stalin.’

Stalin is included with the busts of Franklin Roosevelt and Winston Churchill because the Soviets ‘secured the eastern front and helped win the war,’ he said.

‘He’s part of the narrative thread and the mission of the foundation is preserve the legacies and lessons of D-Day. One of the legacies of D-Day is the Cold War.’

That explanation did not wash with Alex Storozynski of the Kosciuszko Foundation in Manhattan, whose father fought at D-Day as a member of a Polish Army unit.

‘Given McIntosh’s logic, should America put up a statue of Saddam Hussein because he was an ally of the U.S. in the 1980s when we supported Iraq in a war against Iran?’ Storozynski wrote on Huffington Post.

BLUE DOG DEM CAUGHT ON TAPE– Says He’s OK With Jailtime For No Insurance (Video): “

So-called Blue Dog Rep. Dan Lipinski (D-IL) told constituents that he is OK with jailing Americans who don’t buy health insurance:

Steve in Chicago was at the event and asked Rep. Lipinski if he was OK with jailing Americans for not purchasing health insurance:

I attended a townhall meeting held by my Congressman, Dan Lipinski (D), Illinois, 3rd District. Rep. Lipiniski voted for HR 3962 and asked if someone could tell him how they are forced to go on the public option. I was happy to explain it to him.

I pointed out to the Congressman that we need look no further than Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s own words – she believes it’s fair for people to go to jail if they don’t purchase insurance. I asked Congressman Lipinski two questions:

1) Do you agree with Nancy Pelosi that it’s fair to throw the uninsured in jail? and

2) If the public option is just an option and no one is forced to take it, why are people going to be thrown in jail if they don’t?

For those of you who are surprised to learn that people will be required to buy insurance, and if they don’t they will be fined and jailed, it’s in HR 3962.

I didn’t bother asking about the constituion this time since I was certain that question would be blown off even more readily.

Yeah. That Lipinski sounds like a real moderate.

From the video: The Washington Post reported on a provision in the health reform bill that would give the state of Louisiana – whose Senator, Mary Landrieu, is indecisive on health reform – $300 million. ‘The promise of the Obama campaign is to change the way Washington works,’ CNN’s John King asks Sen. Sherrod Brown. King argues that this process is ‘Washington as usual, is it not?’ Brown and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen were tongue-tied as to how to answer the question at first.

Is it any wonder then that independents are still fleeing the socialist party in droves?

Obama Has Now Played 25 Rounds of Golf- More Than Bush’s Two Terms While Soldiers Wait for Reinforcements (Updated): “

Barack Obama has now played more golf than George W. Bush did in two terms as president.

But he’s still dithering on whether or not to support the US troops in Afghanistan.
The Wall Street Journal reported:

Barack Obama has now played 25 rounds of golf, a sport he picked up about a decade ago when he was an Illinois state senator. That’s more golf than former President George W. Bush played in two terms, according to CBS White House correspondent Mark Knoller, who tracks presidential trivia.

It’s been over 3 months since the top general in Afghanistan requested more troops.
Obama has still not made his decision on whether to support the US soldiers and marines in Afghanistan.

Late last night Obama and the White House Office of Management and Budget Director Peter Orszag (?) sat down with other officials to debate the Afghanistan/Pakistan policiy going forward. The administration is suddenly concerned about the cost of the war. This is something new for a White House that just tripled the US national deficit last year and is planning on adding to that with a nationalized health care plan.

Few Green Jobs Available in U.S.: “

President Barack Obama has been promoting ‘green energy,’ but it’s proving to be a miracle solution to the country’s monumental unemployment difficulties, and it is doing little to assist the economy emerge from its deepest recession in decades, economists claim.

The Washington Times reports that, ‘a large part of this years $786 billion stimulus bill was devoted to green or renewable energy projects, with President Obama, Democratic legislators and their environmental allies reportedly promising that the money would be used to create an army of home weatherizers, wind-turbine factory jobs and other employment opportunities that would help put to work the nearly 8 people who have lost jobs during the recession.’

The Great Global Warming Fraud: “

Late last week, servers at Britain’s Climate Research Unit, a part of the University of East Anglia, were hacked and over 60 megabytes of data dumped onto the internet for public access.

The data paints an ugly picture of scientists operating as political hacks orchestrating smear campaigns against global warming dissidents, deleting files rather than make their data publicly available, and manufacturing data to prove their case when the actual data does nothing of the sort.

The University of East Anglia has confirmed the authenticity of the documents. With that confirmation, we see global warming for what it is — a scam perpetuated by scientists intent on gaining access to money.

Even the Washington Post has felt the need to cover this story. The Australian Herald Sun was one of the first to cover the story. They note:

The 1079 emails and 72 documents seem indeed evidence of a scandal involving most of the most prominent scientists pushing the man-made warming theory – a scandal that is one of the greatest in modern science. I’ve been adding some of the most astonishing in updates below – emails suggesting conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organized resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more. If it is as it now seems, never again will ‘peer review’ be used to shout down skeptics.

This is clearly not the work of some hacker, but of an insider who’s now blown the whistle.

Ed Morrisey, at Hot Air, and others have done significant digging into the emails and documents. The highlights are:

1. Prominent environmental scientists organize a boycott of scientific journals if those journals publish scholarly material from global warming dissidents.
2. The scientists then orchestrate attacks on the dissidents because of their lack of scholarly material published in scientific journals.
3. The scientists block from the UN’s report on global warming evidence that is harmful to the anthropogenic global warming consensus.
4. The scientists, when faced with a freedom of information act request for their correspondence and data, delete the correspondence and data lest it be used against them.
5. The scientists fabricate data when their data fails to prove the earth is warming. In fact, in more than one case, scientists engaged in lengthy emails on how to insert additional made up data that would in turn cause their claims to stand out as legitimate.

Andrew Bolt of the Australian Herald Sun has sifted through the emails and finds some surprises that, at first, he was not sure were authentic, but have now been confirmed to be authentic. One, from Kevin Trenbeth in Bolder, CO, to a group of fellow global warming scientists, admits ‘that [they] can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that [they] can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong.’

Another, from Professor Phil Jones at the Climate Research Unit, admits he ‘completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline [in global temperatures].’

This is damning stuff.

Reid Senate Bill: Uninsured Americans Will Pay Penalty… Uninsured Aliens Won’t: “

More hope and change…
Obamacare will penalize uninsured Americans but uninsured aliens will get a pass.
What a shock.
Keith Hennessey reported, via Instapundit:

Under Leader Reid’s amendment, in the year 2019 about 16 million U.S. citizens would be uninsured and be forced to pay a penalty tax of almost $800 per year. About eight million illegal aliens would be uninsured and would owe no penalty tax. Both groups would get their health care through a combination of out-of-pocket spending and use of uncompensated care in emergency rooms and free health clinics.

This seems unfair.
